Ryan Moran races in amateur multiclass sprint competition in the United States, primarily the SCCA Regionals and SCCA Majors championships. He competes in three classes: the B-Spec series for near-stock economy hatchbacks, and the HP and ITB classes for modified production sports cars and production-based machinery respectively. Moran is a developing driver with a rating of 1,149, placing him among drivers in their early competitive career.[1]

Across five seasons from 2021 to 2025, Moran has made 26 starts in these national SCCA championships. He took one win and six podiums across the series, with his single victory and four of those podiums coming in the Regionals. His appearances in the SCCA Majors, a larger national championship, have yielded two podiums from seven starts. He also contested the SCCA Runoffs, the organization's season-ending championship, twice in 2021 and 2022.[2]

Moran races in fields mixing amateur and semi-professional drivers with a handful of graded professionals. He typically finishes behind his most frequent rivals; Alex Ratcliffe, a club-level regular across the SCCA series and NASA, and Tristan Herbert, a competitive amateur with FIA Bronze grading who has raced IMSA Pilot Challenge and GT4 America. Moran has nevertheless beaten drivers of higher standing, including Richard Hromin, the 2022 SCCA Regionals SSM champion, and Francis Selldorff, the 2023 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge GSX champion and an FIA Silver professional with extensive IMSA Pilot Challenge and GT4 America experience.
