Sam Smith is a competitive amateur racing driver with a Racer Rating of 2,610, placing him at the club racing level; this describes a driver who races at a real competition standard but typically in fields made up of amateurs and semi-professionals rather than established full-time professionals. Smith's career on record spans seven starts across three seasons from 2015 to 2017, concentrated in a single-seater campaign. Most recently, in 2016, he competed in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin, starting twice for Mazda Drive For Good without reaching the podium; his final classified finish was P29.[1]
