🇸🇪 Joakim OLANDER

Joakim Olander was a Swedish amateur racing driver who competed in the Ferrari Challenge between 2022 and 2024. Rated 2,618 on the Racer Rating scale, he sits in the competitive amateur band, meaning he was a quick club-level driver racing against paid professionals in one-make series. The FIA categorised him as Bronze in sportscar and endurance racing, denoting an amateur or gentleman driver competing alongside full-time professionals. His record comprised 11 starts, 3 wins, and 5 podiums across three seasons with Scuderia Autoropa, averaging a fifth-place finish.[1]

Olander's head-to-head record against his most frequent rivals was mixed. He consistently beat Tommy Lindroth, a fellow Bronze-graded amateur, finishing ahead in 7 of 9 shared races. Against Martinus Richter and Andreas König, both semi-professional level drivers, he produced an even record, winning four and losing four head-to-head encounters against each. He struggled more against Alexander Nussbaumer, the 2022 Ferrari Challenge S-AM champion, finishing behind him 6 times while beating him only 3 times across 9 races. Olander achieved isolated victories over several stronger drivers, including Sven Schömer, who became the 2025 Ferrari Challenge S-AM champion, and the semi-professional Qwin Wietlisbach.

Among his notable results was a World Final win in the Coppa Shell AM class in October 2022, his breakthrough season, establishing himself as a competitive force among amateur drivers in the Ferrari Challenge. He retired from racing in 2024 after three seasons on record.
