Scott Proffitt was a developing amateur racer who competed in national Porsche club racing and multiclass endurance events in the United States between 2005 and 2008. He raced naturally aspirated Porsche 944s in NASA's 944 Cup class and Porsches in PCA Club Racing's I class, primarily for Porsche across four starts.[1]
Proffitt completed twelve starts across two series, taking four podium finishes. He raced PCA Club Racing from 2005 to 2007, where he finished 16th in the championship standings in his most recent season and earned two podiums from eight starts. He added two podiums from four NASA starts in 2007 and 2008.[2]
He typically finished behind his regular opponents, including John W Wade and Tim Pruitt, both club-level drivers with substantially longer records in these series. Proffitt did finish ahead of Pruitt twice across their meetings and ahead of Mitch D Richard once, results that comprised his strongest showings against drivers of comparable experience.
