Stephen Burns competed in International GT during 2022, completing three rounds in the moderately skilled sprint series that fields grand touring and prototype machinery. Across those three races he recorded two podium finishes and averaged fourth place, establishing himself as a competitive mid-field performer in an open-entry grid populated largely by ungraded amateurs and gentleman drivers.[1]
Burns finished ahead of several capable rivals during his brief tenure, including Joe Rizzo, Maria Mejia, Kevin Maxim and Ariel Aufgang, whom he beat in individual races. He also managed to finish ahead of Stevan McAleer, a much stronger driver graded FIA Gold with a rating substantially above Burns' own. Against the most consistent of his regular competitors, Geoff Isringhausen, Burns struggled; Isringhausen outfinished him across all three shared races. His Racer Rating of 1,843 places him in the amateur ranks, consistent with a single season of club-level competition.
Burns has since retired from racing. His brief career on the database record spans only 2022 in International GT, though subsequent news reports have linked his name to street racing allegations in 2024.
