Timo Kaatz was a club-level driver racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a national multiclass endurance championship in which modified production-based race cars share the grid with fifteen other classes. His only indexed season came in 2022, when he raced Car #283 in the SP 3 class; he completed three rounds.[1]
Kaatz finished fifth in the championship standings that year with one win and one further podium from his three starts. He raced most often against Gerrit Holthaus and Michael Bohrer, both of whom had raced the series far more extensively; Bohrer is a two-time Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie champion in different classes, and Holthaus won the SP 3 title in 2016 and the H2 title in 2020. Kaatz typically finished behind both of them. In a single-race result among his three outings, he finished ahead of Kazuki Nakajima, an established professional and FIA Platinum-graded driver who won the WEC LMP1 championship three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019.[2]
