Zach Dericco is a competitive amateur; his rating of 2,550 places him at the front of club racing and the entry end of pro-am competition, a tier where quick, usually self-funded drivers race against professionals rather than alongside them as equals. He competed in the SKUSA SuperNationals across 2007 and 2008, posting two starts with no wins or podiums. His average finish across classified results was P18.5.[1]
Though he did not finish on the podium in SuperNationals, Dericco's record includes isolated strong results against drivers of considerably higher standing. He finished ahead of Buddy Rice, an FIA Gold graded professional with a rating of 4,515; Eric Lichtenstein, a professional-level competitor rated 4,404; John Zartarian, a semi-professional driver rated 3,810; and Andy Lee, an FIA Silver graded semi-professional rated 3,793. These were single instances rather than patterns of sustained competition, but they indicate that Dericco was capable of competitive pace against much stronger fields.
Dericco is now retired from racing, with his last recorded activity in the 2008 SKUSA SuperNationals.
