Sports 2000 North America is a multi-class sprint series running Sports 2000 cars across three classes: VS2, S2, and HS2. The field is composed of developing and club-level drivers, with Charles Habisreutinger, Brent Gernert, and Greg Miller among the stronger contenders. The series sits at the lower end of the regional racing ladder, notably weaker than SCCA Runoffs and SCCA Majors but comparable to SCCA Regionals and SVRA. Drivers typically arrive from SCCA Regionals, SCCA Runoffs, and SVRA, and many progress onward to SVRA, suggesting the series functions as part of a broader ecosystem of regional amateur competition rather than as a clearly defined stepping stone.
