Alex Blignaut was a South African racing driver who made a single Formula 1 appearance in 1965, driving for Cooper-Climax. He started one race that season and finished seventeenth, recording no points.[1]
Blignaut's professional racing career was brief and limited to that one Formula 1 outing. Cooper-Climax, the team that fielded him, was an established constructor with a strong record in the period, having won 12 races across its history and fielded some of the era's leading drivers including Stirling Moss. Blignaut did not go on to race in any other significant series on record. He later became known in South African motorsport as a team owner as well as a driver.[2]
