🏳️ Ali Naimi

Ali Naimi raced in amateur multiclass road racing in the United States between 2015 and 2023. His primary machinery was a Mazda MX-5 Miata in the NASA Performance Touring D class, a production-based category that runs street cars classed by power-to-weight. He also competed in SCCA Regionals and the SCCA Runoffs in the B-Spec class, which runs near-stock economy hatchbacks. His peak rating, 705, places him among developing drivers; he raced at this level throughout his career.[1]

Naimi took eight starts across three series. Four of those came in NASA in 2015, where he scored two podiums. He then stepped away from organized racing for several years before returning in 2023 to contest two SCCA Regionals rounds, where he took two more podiums. His sole appearance at the SCCA Runoffs came in 2020 or 2021 and produced no podiums. His career total stands at four podiums from eight starts.[2]

His most frequent competitors were Glen McCready, a club-level regular in NASA and SCCA events, against whom Naimi proved closely matched, and David Vodden, a developing driver with far more extensive NASA experience to whom Naimi typically finished behind. Naimi finished ahead of Eric Powell, an entry-level professional and FIA Bronze-graded driver whose résumé included GT4 America and IMSA Pilot Challenge starts, once in their meetings. His results came in multiclass grids that mixed amateurs and semi-professionals with graded professionals across a dozen or more competing classes per race.
