António Simões is a retired professional driver whose indexed racing career consists of a single start in Formula 3 Macau in 1988, driving for West Surrey Racing. The field that season mixed amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals in one grid; Simões competed once in that company.[1]
In his sole outing at Formula 3 Macau, Simões finished ahead of Jean Alesi, at that time a rising driver who would go on to win the 1989 International Formula 3000 championship and race in Formula 1. He also beat Karl Wendlinger, a Gold-graded professional who later won the 1999 FIA GT Championship and raced in Formula 1.[2]
