Ross Hockenhull was a British single-seater driver who raced in the late 1980s at the professional end of open-wheel racing. His indexed record spans two seasons: three starts in Formula 3 Macau in 1988 for Bowman Racing, and three starts in International Formula 3000 in 1989 for Colin Bennett Racing. He finished twentieth in the 1989 International Formula 3000 championship standings.[1]
Hockenhull raced in fields that mixed amateurs and semi-professionals with graded professionals. In International Formula 3000, he competed directly against established drivers who went on to significant careers; he finished ahead of both Jean Alesi and Érik Comas, the 1989 and 1990 champions of that series respectively, on single occasions. More often he ran behind both drivers across the season. His best result came in his first season at Macau against a mixed international field that included drivers with substantial single-seater experience.[2]
