🇧🇷 Nelson Piquet Jr

Nelson Piquet Jr is an established professional competing full-time in the Stock Car Pro Series for Scuderia Bandeiras, where he drives a Toyota Corolla and has accumulated seven wins and twenty podiums across 153 starts since 2015. His career spans 23 seasons of single-seater and stock car racing; he won the 2014 Formula E championship with Panasonic Jaguar Racing and has raced across Formula 1, GP2, and multiple North American stock car series.[1]

His open-wheel record was built in the junior categories and came to prominence in GP2, where he took five wins and thirteen podiums in 36 starts for Piquet Sports between 2005 and 2006. A move to Formula 1 in 2008 produced one podium from 28 starts with Renault across two seasons. Formula E proved more rewarding; he won twice in 38 starts and claimed the championship in 2014, where his performances against a field of professional single-seater drivers established him as a capable frontrunner at that level. His stock car career began with NASCAR Truck racing in 2012, where he took two wins in 25 oval-track starts, then moved to NASCAR Xfinity for 38 starts between 2010 and 2016, winning once. Since 2015 the Stock Car Pro Series has been his primary focus. He also contested the 2016 and 2017 World Endurance Championship, finishing eighth in the championship standings in 2017 with four podiums in eleven starts.[2]

In the Stock Car Pro Series he races regularly against Rubens Barrichello, a four-time series champion and Formula 1 veteran with 326 starts in the sport, and Rafael Suzuki, a professional-level competitor. He has finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton, a generational driver and eight-time Formula 1 world champion, in 15 meetings, and Nico Rosberg, an elite professional and Formula 1 world champion, in 12 meetings; these results came during their shared time in the junior formulae and Formula E.
