🇺🇸 Gar Robinson

Gar Robinson is an established professional racing in the national pro-am multiclass endurance championship IMSA WeatherTech, where he races LMP2 and LMP3 prototypes for Riley Motorsports. Graded FIA Silver, he sits in the second tier of sportscar professionals; Silver drivers in endurance racing are typically on the way up rather than at the top tier of the sport. His primary record spans five seasons with Riley from 2020 to 2025, during which he has taken 12 wins and 25 podiums from 47 starts.[1]

Robinson has won three championships in IMSA WeatherTech, taking the LMP3 title in 2021 and 2023 and sharing another championship with Riley in 2022. His record shows consistent results against the regular field; he typically finishes ahead of professional opponents such as Dan Goldburg and João Barbosa, the latter a 2014 IMSA WeatherTech champion and former Platinum-graded driver. Robinson has also beaten elite professionals including Pato O'Ward, a 2017 Indy NXT champion and current IndyCar driver, and Scott McLaughlin, winner of two Supercars Championships. His racing career began with NASA club competition in Spec Miata from 2012 to 2013, where he took a win and eight podiums, before moving through Trans-Am competition; he won in the TA2 class in 2018 and returned to Trans-Am for two starts in 2024.[2]

Robinson competes in a field mixing amateur, semi-professional and graded professional drivers on the same multiclass grid. His repeated podium finishes against established professionals and occasional victories over drivers with elite credentials place him among the stronger entrants in the endurance field, though his FIA grade reflects that he operates in the professional tier below the circuit's Platinum-graded champions. Robinson is shifting focus to off-road racing in 2026.
