Colin Braun is an established professional racing driver and FIA Gold-graded competitor in endurance racing, currently competing in the IMSA WeatherTech championship for Meyer Shank Racing, driving an Acura ARX-06 prototype. His rating of 5,001 places him in the established professional band, indicating a driver who consistently competes at a high level against graded professionals in international sportscar racing. Braun has also contested the GT World Challenge America Pro-Am class in GT3 machinery for Kellymoss since 2023.[1]
Across a 19-season career dating to 2004, Braun has accumulated 100 starts in IMSA WeatherTech with 13 wins and 30 podiums, anchoring a record of 181 starts across all series with 20 wins and 48 podiums. He took the IMSA WeatherTech championship in 2018 with CORE autosport and again in 2023 with Meyer Shank Racing, and won the Asian Le Mans Series title in 2024 with Crowdstrike Racing by APR. In GT World Challenge America, Braun has taken five wins and 13 podiums from 19 starts. A brief dalliance in NASCAR Xfinity from 2007 to 2010 produced a single podium from 32 starts, most of them on ovals; he returned to single-seaters only once, a 2024 IndyCar start, and has contested the NASCAR Truck Series in recent seasons. His earliest racing, in Star Mazda in 2004 and 2005, has given way to a focus on sportscar racing as his primary discipline.[2]
Braun operates in a field of established professionals, regularly racing against drivers of the same calibre, including two-time IMSA champions Renger van der Zande and Ricky Taylor, both FIA Platinum-graded. He has finished ahead of elite-level opposition including Alex Palou, a four-time IndyCar champion, twice in their meetings, and Denny Hamlin, the 2025 NASCAR Cup champion, once.
