🇧🇪 Max Defourny

Max Defourny is a retired professional driver who raced single-seaters in a five-season career spanning 2014 to 2018. Graded FIA Silver, he competed primarily in Formula Renault Eurocup for MP Motorsport, taking 49 starts across four seasons and scoring 2 wins and 20 podiums in that series alone. He also made brief appearances in FIA Formula 3 European, GB3 and Italian F4.[1]

His strongest period came in Formula Renault Eurocup, where he was closely matched with Sacha Fenestraz, a Platinum-graded professional and 2017 champion of the same series. Defourny regularly finished ahead of Alexey Korneev, a Silver-graded competitor with extensive Eurocup experience. Most notably, he finished ahead of Lando Norris four times and Oscar Piastri three times in that championship; both are now generational-level drivers who went on to win titles at every level and race in Formula 1. His earliest indexed racing came in Italian F4 in 2014, where he completed three starts and finished 21st in the championship standings.[2]

Defourny raced in fields mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with graded professionals throughout his career, with the majority of his 36 starts for R-ace GP occurring in Formula Renault Eurocup.
