César Campaniço is a professional racing driver, FIA Silver graded, who raced single-seaters in Formula 3 championships and the World Touring Car Championship between 2002 and 2010. His career on record spans three seasons and 18 starts, primarily in the Formula 3 Euro Series and Formula 3 Macau, with a brief stint in the WTCC in 2010 driving for Team Novadriver Total.[1]
Campaniço's early racing came in the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2003, where he competed for Signature-Plus across 12 rounds in a field mixing amateurs with professionals. He also contested Formula 3 Macau on four occasions between 2002 and 2003. His highest-profile appearance came in 2010 when he took two starts in the World Touring Car Championship, finishing 21st in the championship standings. These were single-driver, solo racing campaigns against graded professionals and semi-professional competitors.[2]
In the Formula 3 fields where he spent most of his time, Campaniço was closely matched with entry-level professional Katsuyuki Hiranaka but typically finished behind established professional Fabio Carbone. He finished ahead of Nico Rosberg, then at the start of his own climbing career through single-seaters, on two occasions, and ahead of Maro Engel on four occasions across their meetings in Formula 3 competition.
