🇬🇧 Frankie Bird

Frankie Bird is a professional racing driver who raced across single-seater championships and GT endurance series from 2016 to 2024. His largest body of work came in Formula Renault Eurocup, where he started 59 times for Arden across four seasons. He also competed in British F4, GT World Challenge Europe, ADAC GT Masters, and the Asian Le Mans Series; in 2024 he made a Nürburgring 24 Hours start for Mercedes-AMG Team BILSTEIN as a junior driver in the manufacturer's programme. Bird holds an FIA Silver grading, which places him below the full professional grades in endurance racing.[1]

His record across 123 starts yielded a single podium, achieved in GT World Challenge Europe. In Formula Renault Eurocup he raced consistently against the championship's strongest fields but did not break through to regular top-line results. His most notable competitive moments came in his early career in British F4, where he twice finished ahead of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri; both would go on to Formula 1, with Norris becoming a multiple race winner and Piastri a current grid regular. In his later GT endurance campaigns he was a regular presence in the grids but typically ran outside the podium positions.[2]

Bird spent most of his single-seater racing with Fortec Motorsports, the established British team that has fielded 166 drivers and taken 113 race wins across its career, its most notable graduate being Charles Leclerc. The endurance fields he joined in GT World Challenge and ADAC GT Masters mixed semi-professional and amateur drivers with FIA-graded professionals, placing him in competitive company that did not resolve into a winning pattern. His peak came as a junior introduction to the Mercedes-AMG programme in 2024.
