Korneev is an entry-level professional who raced single-seaters in the Formula Renault Eurocup, an international junior championship mixing amateur and professional drivers. He competed for Fortec Motorsports, one of the series' established teams, across three seasons from 2015 to 2017.[1]
Over 38 starts, Korneev finished 18th in the 2017 championship standings, his final season in the series. He typically finished behind his regular opponents, including Max Defourny, a Silver-graded professional who has progressed to Formula 3 and GB3, and Sacha Fenestraz, who won the 2017 Eurocup title and has since raced in Super GT and Super Formula. The field included drivers who would reach higher professional levels; Korneev finished ahead of Lando Norris once and of Fenestraz three times across their shared races.[2]
