🇮🇹 Gianluca De Lorenzi

Gianluca De Lorenzi is an entry-level professional who raced in the World Touring Car Championship in 2005 as a solo driver for his own team, competing in a single-class field that mixed amateurs, semi-professionals, and graded professionals. He returned to racing sixteen years later in the 24H Series, a multiclass endurance championship in which he shared a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car across multiple drivers.[1]

De Lorenzi's indexed racing spans two seasons and seven starts. In 2005 he competed in six rounds of the World Touring Car Championship and finished 26th in the championship standings. His sole appearance in the 24H Series came in 2021 with GDL Racing.[2]

In the World Touring Car Championship he raced regularly against established professionals including Rickard Rydell, a 100-start regular in the series, and Antonio Garcia, a multiple IMSA champion. De Lorenzi typically finished behind both. On isolated occasions he outran drivers of considerably higher standing; he beat Alessandro Zanardi, who had contested Formula 1 and International Formula 3000, and Nicola Larini, a former Formula 1 driver with 50 grand prix starts.
