Brian Alder is an entry-level professional, FIA Silver, who raced prototype machinery across three IMSA national championships from 2015 to 2017. He competed in the Mazda Prototype Lites L1 class and Prototype Challenge MPC class, piloting Mazda-powered Elan DP02 prototypes, and shared an Oreca FLM09 in the WeatherTech Championship's PC class; all three campaigns were contested for BAR1 Motorsports.[1]
Across thirteen starts over three seasons, Alder took two podium finishes. He made his indexed debut in WeatherTech in 2015, then spent 2016 in Mazda Prototype Lites before returning to IMSA's prototype ladder in 2017, when he contested both Prototype Challenge and WeatherTech. His final recorded appearance came in the 2017 WeatherTech season, where he finished 13th in championship standings after one round raced.[2]
In the multiclass fields he raced, Alder typically finished ahead of Jon Brownson, a Star Mazda Championship regular, but usually behind Kyle Masson, the 2017 Prototype Challenge champion. He also beat Andrew Evans, a professional-level driver who started only three times in each series.
