Justin Diercks was an entry-level professional racing in NASCAR Xfinity, the national single-class stock car championship. He competed for ML Motorsports, driving the No. 70 car on oval circuits. His career spanned two seasons from 2006 to 2007, comprising 14 starts before his retirement.[1]
Diercks made his Xfinity debut in 2006 at Richmond International Raceway in the Circuit City 250. That season he completed seven races for ML Motorsports, posting a best finish of 28th, while attempting four additional entries that did not qualify. He returned to the team in 2007 and ran seven more races, achieving a best result of 22nd early in the season before parting ways with the team by mutual agreement in June. His championship standing across the two seasons placed him 44th in the final points.[2]
The grid he raced in included established professionals and former champions; he regularly competed against Carl Edwards, who won the 2007 Xfinity championship, and Jason Leffler, a driver with extensive experience across Xfinity, the Truck Series and IndyCar. Diercks finished ahead of Denny Hamlin, an elite professional who went on to more than 500 NASCAR starts across multiple series, and Clint Bowyer, who would become the 2008 Xfinity champion. ML Motorsports as a whole fielded 20 drivers across the indexed record without a race win.
