David Russell is a professional racing driver rated at 4,776 on the Elo scale, holding an FIA Silver grading for endurance competition. He races solo in the Supercars Championship for PremiAir Nulon Racing and contests multiclass endurance events including the Bathurst 12 Hour, where he shares a GT3 car with co-drivers.[1]

Russell has accumulated nine podiums across sixteen starts since 2018. In the Supercars Championship, where he has been a regular since 2020, he took five podiums in nine starts through to the end of the 2025 season. He has also contested American Endurance Racing, taking two podiums in four Class 5 starts in 2018, and the Bathurst 12 Hour, where he has secured two podiums in three appearances since 2024.[2]

In his Supercars Championship appearances he races regularly against two categories of established opposition. Lee Holdsworth, a professional with FIA Gold credentials, has proven closely matched with Russell across their meetings. Broc Feeney, the 2025 Supercars champion and an elite professional, has also been a regular rival; Russell has finished ahead of Feeney three times across their encounters, and has beaten established professional Jamie Whincup on four occasions. Russell sits in the competitive middle ground of a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals at the same level as his rivals, separated from the elite by his own standing rather than by any clear weakness in head-to-head racing.
