Ayed Alnajjar is a developing amateur competing in NASA, a multiclass national championship where up to fifteen classes race together on road courses, street circuits and ovals across the United States. He races a BMW M3 in the Super Touring 2 class, which groups closed-wheel cars by power-to-weight ratio. His racing record spans two seasons from 2020 to 2021, across which he started six times.[1]
Over his two-season tenure Alnajjar took two podiums from six starts and finished 13th in the final 2021 championship standings. He was closely matched against Evan Gardner, a developing driver and 2009 NASA Super Unlimited champion with 37 NASA starts to his credit. Alnajjar also regularly raced against Kevin Vogel, a club-level driver with 20 NASA starts, though typically finished behind him. He beat Eric Marston, a semi-professional and FIA Bronze-graded driver with significant Ferrari Challenge experience, three times across their meetings.[2]
Alnajjar's field included Charbel Elian, who would become the 2021 NASA Super Touring 2 champion later that season. Elian was the strongest driver Alnajjar finished ahead of during their time racing together.
