Beto Monteiro is an entry-level professional racing in the Stock Car Pro Series, Brazil's national single-class championship. He drove for Scuderia Chiarelli across five seasons from 2015 to 2022, accumulating 37 starts in a field that mixed amateur, semi-professional and graded professional drivers.[1]
Monteiro's tenure in the series was steady rather than commanding. He finished 30th in the championship standings in his final season of 2022, when he raced in seven of the rounds. Across his time in the series he was a regular opponent to two graded professionals, Thiago Camilo and CΓ©sar Ramos, both of whom he typically finished behind. His record against stronger drivers includes a finish ahead of Bruno Senna, the 2017 WEC LMP2 champion, and Jaime Alguersuari, a former Formula 1 driver, though each was a single occurrence across their respective meetings.[2]
Monteiro spent the bulk of his indexed racing with Crown Racing, a small team that has fielded multiple drivers and counted Nelson Piquet Jr, an established professional, among its roster. The regularity of his appearances over five seasons placed him among the stable entrants in a field where professional and amateur drivers shared the grid.
