Bill Collings was a club-level driver who raced in NASA, a national multiclass championship in the United States. He competed in the Spec Miata class, driving a Mazda MX-5 Miata in spec trim, across five seasons from 2008 to 2012.[1]
Collings made 28 starts over that span and took one win and four podiums. His most recent activity on record came in 2012, when he finished 93rd in the season standings after competing in two rounds.[2]
His regular competition came against drivers at his own level and slightly above; he was closely matched with Kevin Pyles, a developing driver who accumulated 179 NASA starts, and usually finished behind Trevor McCallion, a competitive amateur with 202 NASA starts and additional SCCA Majors racing. Collings finished ahead of Alec Udell, a professional graded FIA Silver who went on to race IMSA WeatherTech, Pilot Challenge and NASA across 65 career starts, in two of their meetings, and beat Clark Toppe, an entry-level professional with IMSA Mazda Prototype Lites experience, once.
