🏳️ Ricardo Arruda

Ricardo Arruda is a developing driver racing in national American club and regional championships. He competes in multiclass sprint racing across SCCA Majors and Regionals, where he drives spec Mazda MX-5s in the SMX class and small-bore production cars in STL, alongside single-class racing in NASA Spec MX-5. His racing began in 2019 and spans five seasons with 36 starts across these series.[1]

Arruda has taken four podiums from 36 starts, two of them in SCCA Regionals where he finished ninth in the championship standings in 2024 after three rounds. He has raced most consistently in SCCA Majors with 18 starts since 2022, and earlier experience in NASA Spec MX-5 brought a podium in his first indexed season. His results place him in fields mixing amateurs with semi-professional and entry-level professional competitors; he typically finishes behind Wesley Mollno, a semi-professional regular across the same circuits, and Camden Gruber, an entry-level professional who has run considerably more starts in SCCA racing. He has finished ahead of Westin Workman, a FIA Silver professional and multiple champion including the 2023 SCCA Runoffs SMX, on two occasions, and ahead of Thomas Annunziata, an ARCA Menards Series champion, once.[2]
