Michael Borden is an entry-level professional competing in SCCA national multiclass sprint racing in the United States, primarily in spec Mazda MX-5 classes and small-bore production-based machinery. He races for unassigned teams and has competed across SCCA Majors, SCCA Regionals, and the SCCA Runoffs since 2020, taking his highest-profile start in single-class machinery with Spec MX-5 Challenge in 2023.[1]
Borden won the 2024 SCCA Majors championship and has accumulated eight wins and twenty podiums across forty-nine starts. His five wins in SCCA Majors came from thirty-six starts in that series, with fourteen podiums establishing him as a consistent front-runner there. He has won twice from eight starts in SCCA Regionals and once from three Runoffs appearances, where he took two additional podiums. Most of his recent competitive activity has been in SCCA Majors across 2023 and 2024.[2]
In the fields he runs regularly, Borden finishes closely matched with entry-level professionals of equivalent standing, including regular opponent Cam Ebben and 2023 SCCA Majors SMX champion Alex Bertagnoli. He has finished ahead of Westin Workman, a professional with FIA Silver grading who has since won the 2025 TGRNA GR Cup North America Am and 2026 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge GSX championships, in five meetings. He has also beaten Anthony McIntosh, a two-time Lamborghini Super Trofeo champion and 2025 GT America GT4 title holder, twice.
