Camden Gruber is an entry-level professional competing in national solo sprint racing across SCCA and NASA championships. He races spec production-based Mazda Miatas in the SCCA Majors and Regionals, where he also competes in modified stock cars, and in the spec Miata class of NASA. His primary machinery has been the Mazda Miata across 40 of his indexed starts.[1]
Over seven seasons from 2020 to 2026, Gruber has taken 24 wins and 61 podiums across 127 starts. He won the 2021 NASA Spec Miata championship with 27 podium finishes from 43 starts and the 2026 SCCA Majors title with 20 podiums in 55 races. In SCCA Regionals he recorded nine wins and 13 podiums across 27 starts, and he has made two appearances at the SCCA Runoffs with one top-three finish.[2]
The field at both SCCA Majors and Regionals mixes amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals across 25 classes per race. Among his regular opponents, Gruber runs closely with John Allen, a 2020 NASA Spec Miata champion graded FIA Bronze who has 182 NASA starts to his credit, and typically finishes ahead of Bruce Myrehn, a club-level driver with 84 NASA starts. He has beaten established professional Matthew Payne, a FIA Gold driver with 99 Supercars Championship starts, twice in SCCA Majors, and professional Westin Workman, the 2025 TGRNA GR Cup North America Am champion with 32 starts in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, four times.
