Cade McKee competed in a single season of US Formula 4 in 2020, the entry-level open-wheel category in North America. Across 18 races he recorded three podium finishes and averaged a seventh-place result, establishing himself in the middle order of a competitive field. He showed occasional capability against more experienced drivers; he beat FIA Gold-rated Kyffin Simpson five times across their shared races and FIA Gold-rated Nolan Siegel twice, and he finished ahead of Nico Christodoulou in an even head-to-head split. However, he was substantially outpaced by several peers. He finished behind Jose Blanco, an FIA Silver-rated driver, in 14 of 17 shared races, and he trailed Spike Kohlbecker, a much stronger competitor in the field, in 12 of 15 encounters.[1]
The strongest element of McKee's record was his consistent dominance over the lower half of the grid; he finished ahead of Will Holtz in all but one of their 17 shared races and ahead of Robert Torres in every one of 16 meetings. He recorded podium finishes against a national-level field typical of US F4, though without a win to show in 2020 his peak performances remained modest. McKee has since retired from racing.
