Cedric Piro was an entry-level professional racing in ADAC Formula 4, a national single-class championship that fields amateur, semi-professional and graded professionals together. He raced for Team Piro Sports Interdental across three seasons from 2015 to 2017, making 51 starts and finishing 20th in the final championship standings in 2017.[1]
Piro's record placed him in the lower half of a competitive field. He regularly finished behind Kim-Luis Schramm, a Silver-graded professional who went on to race ADAC GT Masters and GT World Challenge Europe, and behind Michael Waldherr, another entry-level professional in the same series. He beat Charles Weerts seven times and David Malukas five times in head-to-head meetings; both later reached significantly higher levels, Weerts as a Platinum-graded established professional and two-time GT World Challenge Europe champion, Malukas as an elite professional in IndyCar and Indy NXT. Those victories came in the course of single-season racing rather than as a pattern, and both drivers raced the field from a distance compared to their later standing.[2]
