Bill Kniep was a club-level driver racing in American Endurance Racing, a multiclass endurance championship where he shared a car across amateur, semi-professional and professional fields between 2016 and 2019. Kniep made four starts across two seasons in the series. His strongest finishes came against entry-level professionals; he beat Preston Brown, who had raced 31 times in American Endurance Racing and 45 in IMSA Pilot Challenge, and outran semi-professional Sean Noonan. Against his most regular opponent, Catesby Jones, a Bronze-graded entry-level professional with 18 American Endurance Racing starts, Kniep typically finished behind him.[2]
