Brett Taylor raced in the NASCAR Canada Series, a national single-class championship mixing amateur and professional drivers. He competed for five seasons from 2018 to 2022, running 46 starts across the series with Fast Eddie Speedwear and related entries under Ed Hakonson's operation.[1]

Taylor took one win and five podium finishes across his career in the series. He finished 18th in the 2022 championship standings in his final season, his lowest result in the series. His best work came against established drivers; he beat 2022 NASCAR Canada Series champion Marc-Antoine Camirand nine times across their meetings, and finished ahead of 2023 champion Treyten Lapcevich on four occasions. Against his most frequent competitors, however, he typically finished behind them; professional Kevin Lacroix and two-time series champion L.P. Dumoulin both regularly outpaced him.[2]

Taylor sat mid-field in a championship grid that featured multiple past and future titleholders. His rating of 3,124 places him at entry-level professional level; he belonged to a category of driver who could occasionally match stronger opposition but lacked the consistency to run with the series' leading contenders.
