🇮🇹 Catalin Timis Ionuc

Catalin Timis Ionuc is a competitive amateur racing in national multiclass endurance competition. He drives a rear-wheel-drive turbocharged production car in the VT2 Hecka class of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie for SRS Team Sorg Rennsport, an established operation that fields multiple classes and drivers across the series. His first indexed season is 2026, still in progress.[1]

Through seven rounds raced so far, Timis Ionuc leads the VT2 Hecka championship with four wins and five podiums. He has finished ahead of Sandy Mitchell, an established professional and former British GT3 champion, and Tijmen van der Helm, a professional with runs in Formula 3 and the Eurocup to his name. Against his most frequent rivals, two multiple Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie champions in Daniel Zils and Philipp Leisen, both entry-level professionals with extensive endurance racing records, Timis Ionuc has proven closely matched throughout the season.[2]
