Carlos Mendez is a semi-professional racing in national multiclass championships, competing in solo sprint racing across multiple classes in spec and production machinery. He races primarily in NASA, where he competes in Spec E30 and Super Touring 5 classes in spec BMW E30 3-series and production street cars respectively, alongside occasional entries in Super Unlimited. He also holds two BMW CCA Club Racing starts in Spec E30. His regular team is Five.[1]

Over 14 seasons from 2012 through 2026, Mendez has taken 21 wins and 68 podiums across 94 NASA starts, with an additional podium in BMW CCA Club Racing. His record spans the full range of NASA's multiclass grid, where he has consistently finished among the front runners in his classes. He has beaten the four-time NASA Spec E30 champion Robert Grace and has taken wins against Dan Goldburg, a professional driver and FIA Bronze-graded competitor with significant IMSA experience. In the current 2026 season, now six rounds in, Mendez sits ninth in the championship standings with six podiums so far.[2]

The field Mendez regularly faces includes the competitive amateur Scott McKay, a frequent competitor with whom he is closely matched, and the club-level driver Christian Melone, whom he usually finishes ahead of. His most consistent results have come against club and semi-professional drivers who make up the bulk of NASA's grid, though his occasional wins over established professionals suggest he can run near the front in the right circumstances.
