Chris Mealin was an entry-level professional racing in a national single-class championship and a multiclass endurance series. He competed in GB3 for Lanan Racing in 2015, driving a single-seater in a field mixing amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals. He then raced briefly in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in 2016, sharing a BMW one-make cup car in endurance competition.[1]
Across two seasons Mealin took 22 starts and scored two wins and three podiums. His wins came early in his GB3 campaign in 2015, and he accumulated his podiums that same year across nineteen starts. His endurance racing debut in Germany brought three starts in the Cup 5 class but no points finishes, and he finished 34th in the championship standings.[2]
Mealin regularly finished ahead of entry-level and semi-professional drivers in GB3, including Zubair Hoque and FIA Silver-graded James Reveler. He also beat established professional Faisal Al Zubair on fourteen occasions and the 2015 GB3 champion Will Palmer in four meetings, though he was outpaced by both drivers overall. Lanan Racing, the team he drove for in GB3, fielded George Russell among other drivers and recorded 37 wins across the index.
