CJ Wilson, a Canadian driver, competed in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama in 2017 with his own team, CJ Wilson Racing. His racing record comprises two starts in that season, neither of which resulted in a podium finish. His average finishing position across classified results was thirteenth.[1]
Despite the modest scale of his racing activity, Wilson's two starts produced results against several professionally graded competitors. He finished ahead of Mark Kvamme, an FIA Bronze driver and two-time champion, on both occasions they competed together. Wilson also beat Scott Hargrove, an FIA Silver graded professional, once, and defeated Michael de Quesada, another FIA Silver competitor, twice across their meetings.[2]
Wilson has since retired from racing. His team, CJ Wilson Racing, continued in sportscar racing after his departure and was subsequently absorbed into a larger operation; the headline record shows the outfit competing in IMSA competition with other drivers and manufacturers in the years following his own brief stint in Porsche Cup racing.
