Lanigan's NASCAR Xfinity record places him at entry-level professional level. Against the established professionals and regulars in the field, he typically finished behind drivers such as Elton Sawyer and Chad Little, both of whom had far more extensive Xfinity experience. He did finish ahead of Elliott Sadler, an established professional with 397 Xfinity starts, on two occasions, and ahead of Ward Burton once.
