🇺🇸 Mark Martin

Mark Martin is a professional driver who raced primarily in NASCAR Xfinity, a single-class national championship run on ovals and a handful of road courses, for 31 seasons between 1982 and 2012. He drove for Roush Racing for the majority of that tenure. From 2004 to 2015 he also competed in PCA Club Racing, a multiclass national series where he raced Porsches in the GT1, GT3S and GTA2 classes. He holds a Bronze grade under FIA classification for sportscar racing, the amateur level in that system.[1]

Across his indexed record Martin took 50 wins and 94 podiums from 249 starts. His Xfinity campaign, which spans 236 starts and 49 wins, was built on consistency rather than dominance; he was a regular presence in the field across three decades and usually finished ahead of established opponents such as Elton Sawyer and Jason Keller. He also beat drivers of considerably higher calibre: he finished ahead of elite professional Denny Hamlin 14 times across their meetings in Xfinity, and ahead of established professional Tony Stewart 28 times. His PCA Club Racing record was briefer but productive, yielding a win and three podiums from 13 starts in its final year of activity.[2]
