🇨🇴 Oscar Tunjo

Oscar Tunjo is a professional sprint and endurance racing driver competing in IMSA's national-level single-seater and prototype classes. FIA Silver-graded, he races for Gebhardt Motorsport USA Inc. in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, where he pilots a prototype. His career spans 14 seasons from 2011 onwards, with recent activity concentrated in North American prototype racing.[1]

Tunjo has taken 7 wins and 12 podiums from 15 starts in the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge since 2025, establishing himself as a front-running driver in that series. He holds a Racer Rating of 4,456, placing him at the professional level. His path to prototype racing came through single-seaters in the early 2010s, where he finished fifth in GP3 Series across 2015 and 2016 with one win, and earlier raced Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula V8 3.5. From 2019 he moved into GT racing with Madpanda Motorsport in GT World Challenge Europe, then transitioned to prototype series; Prototype Cup Germany produced his strongest stretched record, with 4 wins and 11 podiums across 26 starts from 2022 to 2025. He has also contested European Le Mans Series, a multiclass endurance championship with shared driving duties across two seasons.[2]

In the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Tunjo regularly finishes ahead of Danny Soufi, a two-time Prototype Winter Series LMP3 champion and reigning Prototype Cup Germany champion who fields similar experience. He also beats the established professional Aurelien Panis in their meetings. Early in his career, competing in GP3 Series in 2015 and 2016, Tunjo finished ahead of Álex Palou on six occasions; Palou went on to win four IndyCar championships. At the same meeting, Tunjo outfinished Charles Leclerc once, a driver who became a Formula 1 regular and won the 2016 GP3 championship and 2017 Formula 2 title.
