🇫🇮 William Alatalo

William Alatalo is a Finnish professional racing driver, graded FIA Silver, who raced single-seaters across five seasons from 2018 to 2022. He competed primarily in Italian F4, where he drove for BWT Mücke Motorsport, and progressed through Formula Renault Eurocup, ADAC Formula 4, Formula Regional European and Formula 3 with Jenzer Motorsport in his final indexed season. He has since retired from the record.[1]

Across 97 starts in these championships, Alatalo took one win and seven podiums. His strongest results came in Italian F4, where he finished ninth in the standings in 2019 with two podiums from 18 rounds, and in Formula Renault Eurocup in 2020, where he took two podium finishes from 18 starts. His single victory came in Italian F4. His progression to Formula 3 in 2022 saw him complete 18 starts for Jenzer without a podium finish.[2]

In the fields he raced, Alatalo was closely matched with Grégoire Saucy, a Gold-graded established professional and 2021 Formula Regional European champion who competed regularly in the same championships. He typically finished ahead of Ido Cohen, an entry-level professional. He recorded finishes ahead of both Isack Hadjar and Gabriel Bortoleto, elite professionals who went on to race Formula 2 and Formula 1; both drivers appeared multiple times in his career, though neither represented his primary level of competition.
