Jeff Burton is a professional driver racing in national American motorsport series. He competes in GT World Challenge America, a multiclass endurance championship where he shares a GT3 car in the Pro-Am class for Regulator Racing, and runs selected rounds of GT America, the solo sprint multiclass series in the same machinery. He holds an FIA Bronze rating, placing him among amateur and gentleman drivers in sportscar competition. His primary career was in NASCAR Xfinity, where he spent 22 seasons as an oval specialist with Richard Childress Racing and earlier Roush Racing.[1]

Burton's NASCAR Xfinity record spans 306 starts from 1988 to 2009, yielding 27 wins and 68 podiums across nearly two decades. He raced ovals almost exclusively, starting 299 of his 306 Xfinity races on oval tracks; he competed in a field mixing amateurs with professionals and was closely matched against regular opponents Kenny Wallace, a 1994 Xfinity champion, and Joe Nemechek. His strongest results came against drivers who went on to higher levels of the sport; he finished ahead of Denny Hamlin, now an elite professional and 2025 NASCAR Cup champion, in 28 meetings, and ahead of established professional Tony Stewart in 23. He drove for Roush Racing early in his career and spent his later Xfinity seasons with Richard Childress Racing, a team that won four consecutive Xfinity titles from 2005 to 2007 during the seasons he was part of the roster. Since 2018 he has competed sporadically in national sportscar racing, taking two podiums in four NASA starts in 2018 and joining GT World Challenge America in 2023, where he has won five races and finished on the podium 13 times across 31 starts so far.[2]
