Victor Shaitar competed in the World Endurance Championship across three seasons from 2016 to 2018, accumulating nine starts for SMP Racing. His career produced a single podium finish across that span, with an average finishing position of eighth among classified results. Shaitar retired from racing in 2018.[1]
Shaitar raced consistently against elite professional drivers graded at Gold and Platinum level by the FIA, including multiple WEC LMP2 champions. His head-to-head record against this peer group was decidedly one-sided; he finished behind Nicolas Lapierre, Gustavo Menezes, and Stéphane Richelmi in all seven shared races each, and behind Bruno Senna and Filipe Albuquerque in the majority of their encounters. He held a modestly better record against Ho-Pin Tung, ahead in three of seven races, though this remains a losing record overall. On isolated occasions, Shaitar finished ahead of substantially stronger drivers including Laurens Vanthoor, Ryo Hirakawa, and Jean-Eric Vergne, but these were single results rather than patterns of outperformance.
At a Racer Rating of 4,483, Shaitar sits at professional level, the tier occupied by national championship front-runners and drivers competitive at the sharp end of strong feeder series. His record in the WEC places him as a driver who operated reliably within an elite endurance field but who did not establish himself as a consistent threat among the championship's leading figures.
