🇩🇰 Gustavo Menezes

Gustavo Menezes is an established professional racing driver at FIA Gold grade, currently competing in endurance racing. He is a 2016 WEC champion, holding that title with Signatech Alpine in the series' premier class. His primary recent work has been in the World Endurance Championship across eight seasons from 2016 to 2023, where he took eight wins and 22 podiums; he now races LMP2 prototypes in the Asian Le Mans Series for High Class Racing, returning to competition in 2026 after a break from regular racing.[1]

Menezes came through single-seaters in Star Mazda and Formula Renault before moving to formula racing proper; his Formula 3 European campaign in 2014 and 2015 yielded two podiums across 55 starts for Carlin, where he also made three Macau starts in the same years. His early endurance work came in parallel, a handful of IMSA entries from 2014 to 2020 and a brief European Le Mans Series appearance in 2021 before his sustained WEC tenure. The bulk of his career has been shared-car endurance racing at the professional level; his most recent WEC season in 2023 saw him finish 10th in the championship across seven rounds.[2]

His regular WEC opposition included Antonio Giovinazzi, the 2016 GP2 champion and a five-time World Endurance champion since his early appearance in the series, a driver Menezes usually finished behind. Against Tatiana Calderón, an entry-level professional with significant junior experience, Menezes usually finished ahead. He has finished ahead of Max Verstappen twice in his career and George Russell nine times, results that carry less weight given the different series and cars involved but reflect scattered single-seater work against drivers who went on to higher ranks.
