🇫🇷 Sean Gelael

Sean Gelael is a professional endurance racing driver competing in a career spanning single-seater racing and multiclass endurance competition. He races for Team WRT in the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he drives LMP2 and LMGT3 prototypes and GT3 cars. He holds an FIA Silver grade, ranking him below the full-professional Platinum and Gold grades but established within endurance racing's upper tier.[1]

Gelael's record across 14 seasons totals 235 starts and five wins, concentrated in endurance racing. His career began in single-seaters: 80 Formula 2 starts across 2017 to 2020 with DAMS yielded one podium, and he raced FIA Formula 3 European in 2013 and 2014 for Jagonya Ayam with Carlin alongside limited starts in GP2 Series and Formula V8 3.5. His move to endurance racing saw him establish a substantial record in the WEC from 2016 onwards, where he has taken five wins and 15 podiums across 43 starts. He has also raced the Asian Le Mans Series and European Le Mans Series, taking a podium in the latter in 2021, and made single starts in GT World Challenge Asia and Europe and the 24H Series. In the current 2026 WEC season, Gelael sits 12th in the championship standings through six rounds raced so far.[2]

In endurance racing Gelael races alongside and behind drivers spanning from semi-professionals to graded professionals. His regular opponents in the WEC and other championships include Nicholas Latifi and Jordan King, both established professionals with significant single-seater careers; Gelael typically finishes behind them. He has finished ahead of Max Verstappen and George Russell, both generational talents and multiple Formula 1 champions, in one and two instances respectively, the latter occurring in their shared single-seater categories.
