Dave Zavelson was an entry-level professional racing open-wheel cars in United States national championships. He competed primarily in SCCA Majors, where he drove a winged Formula Atlantic car in the FA class across multiple seasons from 2021 to 2024, with a single-season campaign in Pro Mazda Championship for Unfair Advantage Motorsports in 2017.[1]
Zavelson took the SCCA Majors championship in 2021 with four wins and seven podiums from thirteen starts. He added another podium in the SCCA Runoffs that year. Across five seasons and nineteen career starts, he finished on the podium eight times. His results came against a national field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals, where he regularly finished ahead of competitive amateur and club-level regulars including Kevin Bury and David T Burkett. He also finished ahead of Kyffin Simpson, an established professional and 2021 Formula Regional Americas champion who went on to race in IndyCar and Indy NXT, and beat Jak Crawford, an established professional with extensive Formula 2 and Formula 3 experience.[2]
