David Starr is a professional stock car racing driver competing part-time in NASCAR Xfinity, the series that has formed the bulk of his career. He drives for Joey Gase Motorsports, Young's Motorsports, and Mike Harmon Racing, competing primarily on oval tracks across the national field.[1]

Starr has raced for 21 indexed seasons starting in 2000, amassing 315 starts across NASCAR Xfinity, the Truck Series, and the Cup Series. His only podium finish came in the Truck Series in 2012 or 2013. He has raced most frequently in Xfinity, where he holds 259 of 275 starts on ovals and the remainder on road and street courses. His Cup Series career spans 13 starts, all on oval tracks, and his Truck Series record includes 27 starts. In the 2026 Xfinity season currently underway, he sits 28th in the championship standings after six rounds.[2]

Starr typically finishes behind the regular professional opposition he encounters. He races regularly against Ryan Sieg and Jeremy Clements, both established Xfinity professionals with substantially more starts, and runs behind them in most meetings. His record includes finishes ahead of elite-level drivers including Denny Hamlin, the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series champion, and Ryan Blaney, though these instances are scattered across his long career rather than forming a pattern of competitive advantage.
