David Whitmore holds a Bronze FIA grading, denoting an amateur gentleman driver in sportscar and endurance racing. His rating of 2,272 places him in the competitive amateur band; this level encompasses the front of club racing and drivers racing against professionals rather than alongside them as equals. Whitmore's single recorded season came in 2020, when he made three starts in the British GT Championship for Century Motorsport without securing a podium finish.[1]

Whitmore consistently finished behind the field in his three races. His primary rivals across those outings were professional-level drivers; Jamie Caroline holds a Silver grading with two championships to her name, Euan Hankey carries a Gold grading, and several others including Mia Flewitt, Patrik Matthiesen and Jordan Collard all hold Silver credentials or higher ratings.
