Ernie Jakubowski was a club-level driver who raced solo in multiclass national championships in the United States between 2005 and 2016. He drove Porsches in PCA Club Racing, competing across the D, G, and GT6S classes; he also raced a naturally aspirated Porsche 944 and German cars in NASA's 944 Cup and GTS2 classes.[1]
Over 12 seasons and 95 starts, Jakubowski won 43 races and took 57 podiums. His primary competition was in PCA Club Racing, where he started 77 times and won 34 races from 44 podiums across the 2005 to 2016 span. In NASA he was nearly as successful, winning 9 of 18 starts with 13 podiums between 2008 and 2016. His final indexed season came in 2016, when he took four wins and four podiums from seven PCA Club Racing rounds and finished eighth in the championship standings.[2]
Jakubowski raced regularly against club-level operators, finishing ahead of Bill Comat in a closely matched head-to-head record and usually ahead of Mark Wolff in their PCA Club Racing meetings. He beat semi-professional Scott McKay twice and competitive amateur Shakir Wilson once across their respective encounters in both series.
