Evald Holstad is a semi-professional endurance racer from Sweden, competing in German multiclass sports car racing where amateur, semi-professional and graded professional drivers share the same grid in cars run by two or more drivers in turn. He drives the BMW M240i class for Car #680 in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the SP-X class, run in one-off experimental machinery, for HWA AG in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.[1]
This is Holstad's first indexed season, drawn from one start in each championship. In the Langstrecken-Serie he finished ahead of Joshua Hislop, an FIA Silver-graded driver who has won the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie VT2 Front championship and carries more than twenty starts in the series, and also ahead of Lars Harbeck, a competitive amateur with dozens of starts of his own.[2]
The Nürburgring 24 Hours entry came with HWA AG, in SP-X machinery, around the period HWA was introducing its Evo R customer car; that start puts Holstad on the same Nordschleife entry list as GT3 professionals and factory-backed efforts fighting at the front of the race.
